To provide our services, we use a self-hosted instance of the Ghost CMS.
Hosting (Hetzner)
Our website and database are hosted on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) provided by Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany).
- Purpose: Secure hosting and delivery of our website content.
- Legal Basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Legitimate interest in a secure and stable website) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (Performance of a contract).
- Data Processing: We have concluded a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with Hetzner to ensure your data is processed strictly according to our instructions.
3. Newsletter and Email Dispatch (Mailgun EU)
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and, if provided, your name.
Service Provider: Mailgun
We use Mailgun (Sinch Luxembourg S.à r.l.) to deliver our emails. To ensure GDPR compliance, we use Mailgun’s EU Region (servers located in Germany/EU).
- Data Processed: Email address, IP address, and metadata (opening rates, clicks).
- Legal Basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (Consent).
- Storage: Your data remains within the European Economic Area (EEA) due to our use of the Mailgun EU infrastructure.
- Opt-out: You can unsubscribe at any time using the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email.
4. Cookies and Tracking
The Ghost CMS uses essential cookies for administrative functions (e.g., if you are a staff member logging in).
- Visitors: For regular readers, Ghost generally does not set tracking cookies by default.
- Newsletter Analytics: Mailgun may use tracking pixels to measure open rates. This helps us improve our content. You can disable this by turning off image loading in your email client.
5. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access: You can request a copy of the data we hold about you.
